Research interests

My research interest is development and testing of new neural networks for visual perception, attention and conceptual processing. These systems are intensively studied using neuroscientific and psychological methods but there is often lack of deeper theoretical integration between different levels. Neural networks are important theoretical tool necessary for integration of vast amount of empirical data in neuroscience and psychology. They are interdisciplinary enterprise involving application of methods from mathematics and computer science with the goal to understand relationship between neural activity and its behavioral and cognitive consequences.

Neural networks enable precise formulation of abstract computational principles and their rigorous testing using computer simulations. Furthermore, neural networks offer a number of testable predictions that could be evaluated using empirical methods.
